Jean Burnet is a writer in Seattle.
She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington. Her work has previously been published or is forthcoming in The Los Angeles Review, Brevity, The Toast, and The Offing among others.
In 2012, her stories “Mi Gorda,” and “Things Delivered,” were nominated for the The Seattle Review’s Grace Posner Kameros Prize. Also in 2012, she won the David Guterson Award for her MFA thesis, a collection of mixed-language short stories entitled Out of the Valley, which takes place in her hometown of the San Joaquin Valley in California.
She was a 2014-2015 Made at Hugo House Fellow.
